adidas Unveils New Official Match Ball for Final Stages of 2026 FIFA World Cup
With less than two weeks remaining until the conclusion of the 2026 FIFA World Cup, adidas has unveiled a special-edition official match ball that will be used for the tournament’s final four matches.
The new Trionda match ball will make its debut in the semi-finals before also being used in the third-place playoff and the FIFA World Cup final, replacing the version featured during the earlier rounds of the competition.
While the original Trionda celebrated the tournament’s three host nations—Mexico, Canada and the United States—with a vibrant green, red and blue colour scheme, the latest edition features a sleek White, Black and Gold Metallic design inspired by the iconic FIFA World Cup Trophy.
The ball also honours the tournament’s journey by showcasing the names of host cities that have welcomed matches involving some of football’s biggest stars, including Lionel Messi, Erling Haaland, Kylian Mbappé and Cristiano Ronaldo. New York and New Jersey, which will host the World Cup final at MetLife Stadium on Sunday, July 19, are also prominently featured in the design.
The unveiling comes as the tournament reaches its decisive phase, with the remaining teams battling for a place in the semi-finals.
Several of the pre-tournament favourites are still in contention for football’s biggest prize, including France, Spain, Portugal, England and Argentina. However, the two nations that will contest the 2026 FIFA World Cup final have yet to be decided.
