Nollywood actor Yul Edochie has stirred reactions on social media after stating that men who forgive cheating partners are weak.
The movie star made the statement during a recent appearance on The Honest Bunch podcast, where he discussed relationships, loyalty and infidelity at length.
According to the 44-year-old actor, cheating affects men and women differently, claiming that women who become unfaithful in relationships are often no longer emotionally invested in their partners.
“If you meet a woman who truly loves you, she will be willing to do anything for you. But many men are with women who do not genuinely love them and are simply wasting their time. That is why they struggle to get commitment because those women are emotionally attached to someone else,” he said.
Edochie further argued that a woman who cheats has already emotionally and psychologically detached from the relationship.
“I tell you, once a woman begins to cheat, she has checked out emotionally and psychologically,” he stated.
Referring to a recent viral controversy involving an alleged affair between a married woman and a younger man, the actor suggested that the woman’s loyalty had shifted away from her husband.
“I don’t want to mention names, but look at the recent controversy surrounding the alleged affair between a young man and a married woman, where the husband was pleading with his wife to save their marriage while she appeared focused on protecting the young man. That is because the young man is the one she truly loves,” he said.
Edochie maintained that infidelity should not be tolerated in relationships, insisting that forgiving a cheating partner is a sign of weakness.
“So, there is nothing like forgiveness when it comes to cheating. If you do, you are a weak man,” he declared.
The actor also advised men to establish clear boundaries in relationships and avoid emotional dependence, adding that women are often drawn to strength and confidence.
“People don’t understand, women love deeply. Just find the one who loves you and you will see how beautiful life can be. You can tell when you meet the right person. Don’t lose yourself because of a woman. If you simp for women, you can’t get a real woman. You must set boundaries. Women don’t love weak men,” Edochie added.
